Extended Berlin School music with strong Schulze characteristics remains steady on Laurent Schieber’s “Galactic Crystals” (Adamantine Vibrations of the Universe), a spiritual journey and portal to new dimensions. According to the composer, resonating with the music is key as the listener finds his way as one is encapsulated by the smooth vibrating, emotive waves that release their intrinsic energy gradually on each of the three long-form pieces. They all are minimal-sequencer-driven sound worlds inviting to let go, dream as well, and make a subtle connection to open up to the intangible. Well, to me the latter sounds vague and a bit too much kitsch, but sonically the outcome sure transports you into wide open spaces with no parameters set. Suffice it to say, you can grab this one without hesitation if you’re into Sequentia Legenda’s previous recordings. |
