Vibrant, fresh and contemporary electronics with an overall deep sound that inspire ones imagination is what’s on the menu on “Reflective Frequencies”, the debut album of Solar Fields (aka Magnus Birgersson) on the French Ultimae label. The continous ride of atmospheric mood-techno without much melodies merges downtempo and IDM styles while also incorporating dreamy and chill-out along some stark hooks of ‘90’s sci-fi PC game soundtracks. Check out “Blue Light”, “Inherit Velocity” and the cosmic “Overlapping Particles” for spaced-out moments. The freaky and harsh “…Red Vortex” is the only flaw for me on the album. |
