This is an album for all who love contemporary electronic music incorporating slight influences of dance, chill-out and techno. Wandering through the vibrant and fresh 71-minute “2Club Genetica” (a follow-up to the 2008 “Club Genetica” release), I was reminded quite often of Schiller’s instrumental tracks. Mr Erbe’s music though presents more original hooks and some chill-out/cinematic flavours, being less melodic-oriented, not featuring that many solo lines. In addition, there’s a captivating pulse and positive vibe pushing things onwards while the open and spatial sounding rhythmic/sequencer music never tires. The latter is best displayed on the tantalizing “Into the Night” and “S-thetic” (original), both found at the tail of the album. I imagine this excellent mastered and produced recording is a fine companion while cruising on a German highway. |
