The music on “Remnants”, a compilation of session recordings David T. Dewdney made between the albums “Aqueous” and “Valles Marineris”, is a pleasant trip down memory lane and a worthy dedication to TD’s atmospheric “Phaedra” plus all who love sequences, mellotron flutes and retro textures. The four tracks (all made for actual new albums but not included after all or completed in the end) address, respect and compliment the cosmic, mysterious and pastoral realms from back then very nicely. Syn even expands the overall sound slightly and carefully into the contemporary domain without losing the impact and intrinsic beauty that made the original shine so much. Chapeau, David! |
