Tangerine Dream – One Times One

“One Times One”, a cupdisc, is the first of a new format from the TD-factory, offering 35 minutes of music offered for a lower price than a regular cd.

The Ep holds six tracks, of which two are instrumental versions of previous released tracks (“Man” and “Loved by the Sun”). I can’t say the latter two reworked versions impress me, as they don’t add much and sound a bit empty to my ears.
But on the other tracks there’s some of Edgar’s exquisite guitar work, next to a nice bunch of sequencing and vocal samples.
The moody, up-tempo “Modesty and Greed” could even have been a bonus track of “Underwater Sunlight”.

In all, it makes a nice collector’s item for the fans, but nothing more than that.
