In the early stages of recording his fourth album “Lux Primordia”, California-based space music composer Chris Macdonald (aka Telomere) was interested in pursuing a more drone-influenced style. But at the same time, Chris kept a clear focus on the cosmic outcome in motion through harmonic, melodic, rhythmic or thematic changes. Well, the integration of all elements has been accomplished very nicely on this 56-minute release, for which Mr MacDonald used his trusted Serge STS Modular and Roland Jupiter 8. It’s a fluid, free form and highly cinematic journey through deep cosmic spheres, offering beautiful farscapes when listening intensely. All in all, the dreamy ambient space-album “Lux Primordia” makes a nice extension on Telomere’s previous recordings. It’s a pity though the album is a cd-r this time, as such quality simply deserves a factory-pressed release… |
