Temps Perdu is an ambient/industrial project by the Dusseldorf-based French/German duo Dirk and Catherine Ledit-Grützmann. Their debut and privately released album “Athanor” is strongly influenced by modern life at the start of the ‘90’s, a period in which lots of communication facilities such as fax, email services, mobile phones and other technologies started to have a big impact on human society. The duo has crafted very earthy and organic music, melting mysterious atmospheres with an assortment of world music elements. In addition, the electro-acoustic music contains lots of ethnic samples, voices and world rhythms spicing things up to create an overall adventurous, imaginary and dynamic atmosphere with occasional foreboding sonic passages. “Athanor” translates the range of emotions and rhythms of life on earth in a rather unique, at times gloomy manner: its sonic sketches shapeshift and curl as we are constantly on the move. |
