By accident I came into this fine space-ambient EP by Boulder-based composer Shane Williams, operating as Third Eye Sound, whose output is highly inspired by Nepal. The nearly 8-minute title track is a lush elevating soundscape of epic, grand open spaces and few resonating bell sounds, in all not straying far from the haunting Himalayan ambient imagery David Parsons produced. A similar calming, mesmerizing mood continues on the 12-minute “Closer to Infinity”, a nice aural vehicle to contemplate a bit and to drift off-world simultaneously. I strongly suggest checking out “Panorama” if warm, long, and spacious moving pads merged with a Nepali mood and feel are up to your alley. “Panorama” is available as a name-your-price download. |
