It took almost two years before Brennan’s long awaited ninth album “Silver” saw the light of day. The album offers music that nicely follows in the footsteps of predecessors like “Mist” and “Satori”, presenting another collection of slowly morphing textural space music. The title track is divided in six “parts”, offering vast, haunting, slightly melodic soundscapes. The first two parts are rather quiet, before things get into nice symphonic dwellings in the third part. Part five introduces some delicate pulse sequencing with silk textural plains. “Time” offers some cyclic elements before album closer “Afterglow” takes another dive into symphonic realms. In all, this is excellent, high-quality free form space music deserving both thumbs up. |
