The music on this 25-minute ep, inspired by the early Artificial Intelligence compilations on Warp Records, is almost instantly recognizable as a 36 recording. Still minimal in nature, “Symmetry Systems” (described by the artist as a sort of spiritual sequel to “Wave Variations”) features seven compact, non-rhythmic tracks with an overall lush and optimistic sound pallet made up of slow evolving chord progressions entwined with hypnotic, almost infectious melodies. Warmth, nostalgia and a sense of bliss are key in the smooth waves and arpeggios, elevating the listener up to a fluid, alternate sphere beyond. Nice going, Mr Huddleston.
