Subtitled as the “mystical, powerful world of spirit healers”, “Shaman” sets out on a 47-minute harmonic journey. This time, David Arkenstone offers no smooth synthesizer orchestration anymore but an assortment of native/shamanic rhythms, chants and native flutes with just a slight breeze of melodic synthesizer to accompany them. It makes for an overall soft and sweet outcome where even a certain sense of sensuality and the exotic shine through, but its calming sphere, sweet and profound New Age realm features on each of the seven tracks simply can’t grab nor keep my attention. |
