Since I discovered the music of German composer Uwe Reckzeh, I have come to the conclusion the sequencer-driven outcome of this talented musician is certainly worth a listen. Although sonically following another path as his Spanish collegue Javi Canovas, both form a special league of talent in contemporary electronic music since some time. Although lots of TD-inspired and oriented music again is featured on “Mirror Images”, it never feels weak, predictable or a repetition of excursions taken on other albums. This is an attractive, melodic and energetic 67-minute package of solid and overtly transparent sounding music featuring a great, steady rhythm section accompanying the jolly, firmly rooted sequencer lines, smooth soaring solo voices and occasional vintage pads. If you’re looking for positive and uplifting instrumental electronics with an upfront sound and overall attractive vibe, “Mirror Images” will make it all happen. |
