The melodic, sequencer-driven Berlin School music with stronger ’80’s TD-characteristics found on “Virtual Minds” is prolonged on the “Surreal Dreams”. The nearly 76-minute album offers a transparent sound design where steady rhythms and beats lead the way as well as the catchy, soft soaring melodies on each of the seven tracks. They create a vibrant yet fresh outcome alltogether -standing out especially on the 17-minute “Surreal Dreams Pt III” (3 Spheres”) and 16-minute “Hydrothermal Springs”- that will appeal to a large EM-audience. Although not breakbreaking in any sense Uwe’s “Surreal Dreams” simply proves another steady release. |
