“Lost In The Humming Air (Music inspired by Harold Budd)” is a thirteen-track compilation containing a collection of exclusive pieces by various composers paying tribute to the spheric, yet spacious sound art of ambient pioneer and pianist Harold Budd. Next to label owner Marsen Jules, some of the the involved composers are Loscil, Biosphere, Xela, Mokira, Christopher Willits, Andrew Thomas, Taylor Deupree, Rafael Anton Irisarri, Porn Sword Tobacco, Deaf Center and bvdub. The outcome are contemporary ambient and minimal sketches reflecting and interpreting the beauty and impact of Budd’s timeless music all in their own sometimes quite adventurous) way. They trigger the imagination and immerse the listener into unknown and expansive sound fields, such as the moody and dark “Plateau” kicking off the album. When you’re into the deeper end of ambient, “Lost In The Humming Air” is for you. |
