I can be brief about the music on this release, referred to as a “soundtrack composed for a never-materialized art installation”. It was made in the period when Dirk Serries, aka vidnaObmana, sticked to creating overall calm, amorphous, introspective and expansive textural ambient soundpaintings. The continuous 73-minute, highly atmospheric outcome found here taps into aural subterranean and (nether)worlds beyond while integrating haunting and celestial elements into the morphing layers as well. There are even passages lining up nicely next to Bernd Kistenmacher’s piece “La Tendresse”. Overall, “Eternal Circulation” is an immersive ambient drift one can enjoy as backdrop or for deeper listening. |
