Wellenfeld – Trip to Illusion

“Trip to Illusion” is the third release by the German duo Detlef Dominiczak and Andreas Braun, aka Wellenfeld.
The nicely designed album features eight tracks with overall mainstream electronic music. Unfortunately, I couldn’t detect any sparkle in it that made it a bit more interesting than other recordings in the genre.

The music contains all the standard ingredients of the genre, so not that surprising beat/rhythms, lots of melody and sequencers to give things the necessary backbone. It all fits nicely in the same simple as predictable framework. But I think the band will get away with that, keeping the average fan of general melodic music in mind….
